Warren County Library Live Programs

All programs are held in the gazebo at Catherine Dickson Branch of the Library at 4 Lambert Rd, Blairstown, NJ 07825. Please register at https://warrenlib.evanced.info/signup/calendar. For ages 5-12. Caregivers for children aged 9 and under must remain at the event. Free.

Maker Club encourages kids and families to get hands-on as they meld science, technology, and art. Learn about the physics of propulsion as we use chemistry to launch film canisters and engineering to make our own paper rockets.

NERDY DERBY

Maker Club encourages kids and families to get hands-on as they meld science, technology, and art. Explore forces and motion as we build our own simple cars, customize our creations and then race them on a rain gutter track.

SPIN ME ROUND

Maker Club encourages kids and families to get hands-on as they meld science, technology, and art. Make a cool upcycled spinning top, then add swirling paint to decorate it while it’s in motion. Plus make your own creation on the giant spin art machine. 

TELL A STORY

Wednesday, October 6, 4:30 pm

Maker Club encourages kids and families to get hands-on as they meld science, technology, and art. Craft your own handmade book then write a simple story to share. Then bring a character to life with some cardboard engineering. 

SALT DOUGH SCIENCE

Maker Club encourages kids and families to get hands-on as they meld science, technology, and art. Get hands-on as we make salt dough, use it to control a circuit, and then shape it into spooky Halloween ornaments. 

HEROES AND MONSTERS

Maker Club encourages kids and families to get hands-on as they meld science, technology, and art. We’ll upcycle old t-shirts into superhero capes. Then we’ll use the scraps to create little plushie monsters. Will yours be cute or creepy? 

HALLOWEEN ENGINEERING

Wednesday, October 27, 4:30 pm

Maker Club encourages kids and families to get hands-on as they meld science, technology, and art. Learn circuits as you build your own simple spider bot. Then make a mini catapult for marshmallow pumpkin chunkin’.
