Dale Dougherty speaking at the Education Forum.

We’ve made it to  World Maker Faire in New York. On Friday Make hosted an Educators Forum. Speakers included Dale Doughery of Make, Sarah Boisvert of Fab Lab Hub, Carols Moreno from Big Picture Learning, Ted Dintersmith who is the author of What School Can Be, Jacob Lingley from Brilliant Labs, Daniel Borghoff from Maker Depot Academy and Brad Halsey of Building Momentum, among others. It was a day packed with inspiration, motivation and great ideas.

Make wearbles at Kathy Ceceri’s workshop.

There were also great workshops offered by makers for mall over the world. I was very lucky to assist Kathy Ceceri with her workshop, “Explore Circuits with Simple Light-Up Wearables!” She showed and enthusiastic group of educators way to create fabric pins and bracelets that light up and teach basic circuitry concepts. It was lots of fun!

We finished out the night with the traditional dinner provided by Gerard’s Paella and a Maker Happy Hour. It was a great opportunity to meet up with old friends and make new ones.

Cant wait to see what tomorrow offers!
